CASA DARISA - Fuerteventura Golf Resort, Caleta De Fuste, Fuerteventura Where the sun shines all year round ...........
Fuerteventura is the second largest and the oldest of the Canary Islands and was formed approximately 70 millions years ago as a result of volcanic activity.
It is the most easterly of the islands making it the closest to Africa
and is less than 100 km off the coast of Morrocco.
The geographical position of the island means that for many tens of thousands of years,
sand from the Sahara desert has been deposited onto the shores of Fuerteventura.
The result of this is approximately 125 miles of some of Europes finest beaches.
Fuerteventura is located on the same latitude as Mexico and Florida and shares
very similar weather conditions and temperatures.
On average, there are over 300 days of sunshine per year.
The summer months are dry and hot with trade winds from the north
to cool things down slightly, making it a perfect destination to take a holiday in the sun.
The winter months are filled with sunny, warm days and cooler nights,
making Fuerteventura an ideal choice for a winter break.

CAR HIRE
Although not essential, car hire is definitely worth considering as there are many places of interest to discover and explore on Fuerteventura.
Due to the low population of the island, driving is both enjoyable and stress free. The road network is built to a high standard and everywhere of interest is within easy reach by car.
There are many car hire companies on the island
but we always use either Cicar or Payless
as they offer excellent service and reliability.
If you are considering hiring a car, please see the links below.
NB. Please note that with both Payless and Cicar, you reserve your car and only pay when you pick it up either at the airport or in Caleta resort centre
